At the time of his death Dallas resident George de Mohrenschildt (1911-1977), described by some as the best friend of accused presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, had completed a crude first draft of his memoirs. Unfinished, the text was appended to a government report published in 1979 and then largely forgotten by the broader public. Presented here in stand-alone book form for the first time is the original manuscript, its profusion of grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors corrected, its largely haphazard content professionally copyedited and reorganized, and its arguments rigorously fact-checked and supplemented with several hundred annotations, many of them using documents declassified since the time of de Mohrenschildts death. This is an invaluable resource for Kennedy assassination novice and dedicated researcher alike.
