At the weekend I was in a discussion with someone who believes - TopicsExpress

At the weekend I was in a discussion with someone who believes strongly in the concept of survival of the fittest. This is something that many still put great faith in and yet it has, in many ways, resulted in greater separation as the video below alludes to. When people believe this there is a drive to achieve power over others and be the best, no matter how it affects others. The rise and fall of Enron is a perfect example of this, the CEO was a strong believer in the selfish gene and survival of the fittest. We have experimented with this idea as a collective for some time. I have witnessed my own competitive ego at play and found myself enjoying life and achieving more through a cooperative approach. Recent science has demonstrated that nature is inherently cooperative. Spiritual masters have espoused this for aeons. In such a system it is not necessary to seek power over others, but to find it within so that we have more to give to others. I wonder what technologies will be created as more of us accept this belief in cooperation. Look for evidence of cooperation between communities, nations and individuals. It is springing up all around us and what we focus on expands. There are already technologies that seek to enhance cooperation and they deserve more attention than the technologies that seek to divide us. When you see one in your day today, please share it below in the comments section! This video delves into the origins of the survival of the fittest paradigm and the shadow it has cast. It is also 11:11 minutes and seconds so I take that as pretty affirming :) https://youtube/watch?v=BGq-MbmL5c0
