At this time, I am praying for my friend, and co-worker, whose nephew, New York City Police Officer Rafael Ramos, was one of the police officers killed while in the line of duty in the city of New York. On a daily basis, my co-worker works tirelessly to teach all of our students about peace, tolerance, compassion, acceptance and respect. He is deeply involved in teaching our children about building positive human relationships, eradicating bullying, protecting the rights of animals, the effects of global warming, beautification of our school grounds, social justices, and numerous other human and worldly issues, all while teaching our students about great works of Literature, and the subject of Reading. I am deeply humbled to work with him, and tonight, Ill say a special healing prayer for him, his nephew, and for his family, that they may find peace and comfort in knowing that both are respected, honored and loved.
