At this time the SPCA of TN is a hold on intakes but I couldnt stop looking at Poppys picture and I will like to get her into our SPCA of TN program. We are looking for a foster or forever home for Poppy....Please let me know if you can foster Poppy for us. Please call Celina at 615-354-3531or Denice at 615-496-1417 Meet Poppy. Poppy was thrown out of a moving vehicle exactly one month ago. When they found her, she was too weak to even stand. At 1 year old, Poppy only weighed 22 lbs. She was weak, emaciated, her stool was black, her gums were white, and she had no interest in anything. She stayed with our vet staff for a few weeks while they nursed her back to health. They named her Poppy because she was so pretty like a poppy flower. In a month, Poppy has gained almost 11 lbs! She is now at a healthy weight and loves everyone. She has not been tested with other dogs and we don’t know her heartworm status yet. To humans, she is super sweet and loves everyone she meets. She doesn’t react to the other dogs barking at her through the cages. While Poppy is on the mend, she now has another setback – she has some hair loss on her toes and body that look to possibly be ringworm. Poppy has lived through so much – this is the last thing she needs right now! Poppy needs a rescue to come get her out of the shelter and spoil her like she has never known. I attached her “before” picture and 3 pictures of what she currently looks like. Poppy weighs 33 lbs and is some sort of small pit bull mix. Before leaving the shelter she will be spayed, given a rabies vaccine, and heartworm tested. Her pull fee is $15. Please let me know if you are able to help Poppy! She is waiting very patiently.
