At times as a born again believer in Christ, there is a sense of bondage that occurs in our life when being trialed.(i speak more for myself but have spoke with many pastors that agree and have lead me to this scripture)We tend to get all caught up in the situation or circumstances of how bad we have it, instead of simply giving it to God and seeing that our life belongs to Him(thankfully) and that there is typically more to whats ahead of us than we can see at the moment. This is especially relevant to new believers, and can be remedied of course by prayer and reading your bible. Dont be ashamed if you have questions! ask a pastor or someone with years of focused dedication to the ministry. God hates mans pride and haughtiness! It gets in the way of peace and freedom that comes in His Spirit! Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God. Who has saved us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, Which has given us Christ Jesus before the world began. 1 Tim.8-9
