At universities, high profile athletes are treated differently than other students. Ive seen it first hand. I hate how the media is reacting to Notre Dames recent suspension of four football players for academic dishonesty...like its a rarity! Ive taken classes with athletes that have missed MAJOR projects and presentations but still ace the class. That being said, am I necessarily an opponent of this? No! Athletes have an unthinkable workload with their sport plus they make our school exciting. Does it matter to me that he gets the same grade in Business Economics as I do without doing half the work that? Not at all, because I will be cheering VERY loudly when you have both a 4.0 GPA and a great game against Syracuse this winter.
