Atapuerca has all World XC medalists! by EME NEWS BURGOS (ESP): All three medalists from men race at this years World CC Championships in Poland will run in the second competition of IAAF Permit CC Series this Sunday in Atapuerca. In the Parque Arqueologico Kenyan Japhet Korir will face Eritrean bronze winner Teklemariam Medhin and Ethiopian silver medalist Imane Merga (also World champion 2011). From other runners in the men 10 km race also Kenyan olympic steeple medalist Abel Mutai, Timothy Toroitich and Goitom Kifle. In the women 4 km race strong Ethiopian group led by Hiwot Ayalew, Belaynesh Oljira along with former World champion Linet Masai and Janet Kisa from Kenya. Shitaye Eshetu from Bahrain was 4th at last terrain global championships. Top Spanish runners are also scheduled to compete (Javier Guerra, Victor Garcia, Jesus Espana on the men side, Gemma Barrachina, Diana Martin on the women side). In total 4000 runners in all categories are expected.
