Atheism is irrational? Perhaps, the usual responses used to defend theism are best for our position. 1) Thats just his interpretation, so dont twist everybodys words to suit his bias and bigotry. 2) Dont take Atheism so literally, since its such a nuanced and paradoxical subject. 3) Dont lump all Atheists into one category, because you cant judge peoples actions by their beliefs. 4) Atheism works in mysterious ways, so it is past his ability to discern. 5) Who is he to judge? Just take Atheism by faith, since its up to him to prove God. 6) Who is he to tell us that we are wrong, since Atheism brings peace and comfort to so many in a world torn apart by random gods? 7) Understanding Atheism requires advanced knowledge of the ancient dead languages requiring several years of study to master, since it is impossible to truly understand it based upon English translations. 8) Atheism changes with the times, so theists cannot judge it by their subjective, modern and dogmatic standards. 9) Denials of Atheism come from a deep seated knowledge within that it is really true and believers are actually lashing out against that knowledge within. 10) Only a true Atheist can understand the deeper meaning of Atheism, so unenlightened theists are automatically wrong. 11) Criticizing Atheism for being irrational is just racist and gross.
