Atomic Futurism by Rammellzee In this early work by the Graffiti Art luminary, Rammellzee (American, 1960–2010), the center of the composition explodes outward with bursts of splattered neon paint, vivid spray painted stencils, and expressionistic layers of enamel paint, resulting in a quintessential example of the artist’s Gothic Futurist aesthetic. This style, formed with a group of artists in the 1980s, is distinguished by its illegible writing derived from Gothic script, dynamic look, and vibrant colorings. During his lifetime, Rammellzee exhibited alongside artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Futura 2000, Keith Haring, and LA II.
