Attending this event yesterday. Kudos to the BumsOnTheSaddle Pune team for organising this. Learnt a lot, and feel a lot more confident of being able to go out on long rides and yet be able to deal with punctures, chain breaks etc. One of the amazing things I learnt, that on contemporary bicycles, a beginner can fix a flat in 10 mins (seems quite likely based on the session I attended) and pros can do it in 1 minute. Purchased some missing essentials from my cycle carry on toolkit. Also found some references to good books, purchased The Cyclists Training Bible on my kindle (already read about 15% of the book). They stock it and Zinn and the art of road/mountain bike maintenance if you want the paperback versions. An excellent investment of two hours. If you want to learn the basics of bicycle maintenance, you must attend this event if and when this comes up again. PS: As a bonus, met Ram Iyer after 24 years. Didnt even know he stayed in Pune.
