Attention Haines Falls residents and all that wish to see an end to this neglect: This yet ALMoST another casualty of the camp at old silver Springs! Annually ,myself, volunteers, and good samaritans capture animals left to run loose or die caged after camp ends in August. We have contacted multiple people on ordinances etc. Animal cruelty is animal cruelty! Dumping domestic animals into wild is encon law as well we are trying to persue. As well as other avenues to be sure it doesnt happen again. Amusing play for camp goers and revenue and then dumped. Only to be repeated the next calendar year! Cruelty at it finest. What about all the care for the ones we have helped to date???? No fines, no summons, no ordinances in place?? These rabbits as well as ducks, geese, mini horse and whatever else sadly resides there will be left to fend for itself or worse......caged and left to die! ( which you know i have not allowed to happen since the day I found out)Town needs to step up and do something on perhaps restrictions on main road. Town, Humane Society, ACO, if you knew.....Have you called?? They all cant turn a blind eye . Just because an animal was born outside , lives outside and left to its own devices, does not make it wildlife. It makes it cruelty and abandonment with nobody to respond! I have been at this a long time. Believe me I know all to well animals are dumped all the time and we have no case and no way to stop it. These animals are different, this case is not unsolvable......WE KNOW ALL!!! *Cranial swelling and infection from attack has left this young rabbit w swelling , seizures and inability to stand. If she makes a recovery we will find her a forever home.....will be seeking offers to foster being we do not house domestic animals at FFF.
