DRAFT ENFiD 1st Annual General Assembly 11-14 July 2014 Hontalbilla, Segovia, Spain enfid.org Executive Summary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Background: • The aim of the 2012 first Diaspora-2-Dialogue (D2D) Conference held in Rome was to provide a forum for Europe-based Filipino organizations/associations to discuss and achieve collective consensus regarding migrants cultural and socio-economic integration/reintegration in host and home countries. Fifteen European countries were present. • The delegates signed the “Rome Declaration “, a framework to strengthen the Fil-Euro Diaspora’s capacity to (a) interact/work with multi-sectors of both host and home countries; and (b) encourage participation, and empower the migrants, in the integration/reintegration process of both host and home countries. • The conference formed the European Network of Filipino Diaspora (ENFiD) with a vision towards a sustained commitment to the “Rome Declaration”. • ENFiD is registered in Malta. Its mission -- to propagate the sense of Filipino “nationhood” outside of the home country; inculcate a strong sense of shared destiny and aspirations; and act as a catalyst in promoting resolutions to issues and arising problems among Filipinos in Europe. • ENFiD is holding its 1st Annual General Assembly. The event is being supported by AFIMA, FEMUR and the Comunidad de Segovia. II. Conference Objectives: 1. Identify issues for ENFiD to pursue at the European level on behalf of the Filipino community in Europe. 2. Formulate an Action Plan for the next five years. 3. Hold election of officers as prescribed by the constitution and bylaws. 4. Strengthen the networking among Filipino organizations for continued sharing and learning upgrade. III. Organizing Partners: • Asociacion Filipina de Madrid (AFIMA) an arm of the local government, Comunidad de Madrid, providing social services and info to Filipino migrants as part of the citys regional program for migrant integration and development. AFIMA is an affiliate organization of FEMUR. • Federacion de la Mujer Rural (FEMUR - femur.es) is a farm learning center offering courses and technics of agricultural production to enable women in rural areas gain equal rights and opportunities to improve their conditions and selfhood. The center is a self-contained farm area complete with fully-equipped convention/meeting rooms, sleeping quarters (30 double occupancy), dining areas, social halls, etc. VIII. Costs: Airfare – for account of participants Airport transfer Accommodation - €60/night per person to include 3 meals (3 nights), and use of meeting rooms Conference materials - €10/person Coffee Breaks - €10/person IX. Sponsors: Organizers will try to get sponsors to cover some of the costs: • Provide 1 night free accommodation of participants • Host a welcome reception • Assist transfer arrival/departure • Conference materials X.
