Attention craft beer lovers in the state of Florida. Craft breweries are under attack and if they lose the lawsuit most may have to close. AB and Miller-Coors distributors have filed a lawsuit claiming that craft breweries are illegally selling craft beer in their tap rooms using the Florida Tourism Exception. What is this tourism exception? Ironically, this was a law passed years ago by the state of Florida to allow Anheuser-Busch to sell beers in the theme parks they owned. Now that they no longer own the parks they want this exception repealed. A result will be shutting down all the tasting rooms in craft breweries all around the state. Craft breweries would only be permitted to sell beer thru a distributor to retail outlets. ABC Fine Wine & Spirits are (no surprise) supporting AB and Miller in the lawsuit. Why? Cant buy beer in a tasting room. Where do you go? Yep, ABC. Sleazy! If you are a fan of craft beer, make your opinion known. Write to your legislators and tell them they need to STOP this! Even if you are not a beer drinker, craft beer in Florida brings millions of dollars and employs thousands of people. Save craft beer. Save jobs. Stop AB, Miller and ABC from destroying a growing industry. #supportlocalcraftbreweries jacksonville/breaking-news/2015-01-12/story/abc-liquor-stores-b-and-millercoors-beer-distributors-challenge-craft
