Attention friends and lovers, My time in Las Vegas had officially come to an end. I will be relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana to pursue all the heartland has to offer. I see so much potential and growth headed for that city and its the one I felt the best connection with in my travels. We are going to do big exciting things there. In my ten years in Las Vegas #1. I survived. #2 I decided to make a career change at the end of 2006 to this Bartending thing all because I went to a place called carnival court and saw people getting tipped $100 for being a circus clown. (Yes flair is what hooked me even though Ive never been a flair bartender.) #3 Met some fantastic people that I love in the short time I put in at Trader Vics. #4 Ive worked graveyard in gaming bars and a real dump or two earning my stripes. (Heres looking at you Juke Joint on Craig/lamb. Surprised I didnt get shot.) #5. Opened the greatest bar Las Vegas had ever seen with a bad ass crew. Damn bar was so busy, my coworkers were so good and influential I learned ten years of skill set in two. I will always be proud of my Vesper teammates. We changed the way bars are made in Las Vegas. Thank you for those 3.5 years of memories. Its just the way Vegas is now, the corporations and nightclub companies want to open craft bars but they dont have the passion to do it right and remain consistent. Faster and more profit is where its heading. Every time I walk into a new bar or restaurant it seems the menu was made by either Wirtz or SWS. Now I love these corporate mixologists and these companies but dont you think it would be nice if they hired skilled bartenders and put out passionate menus they crafted vs a biased menu based on business dealings. Its holding Las Vegas back. Good luck to all and I hope to see more owner/operated bars in Las Vegas because they are just a cut above. Clubhouse crew for life.
