Aug 22, 2013. From the book, The United States Constitution Made Easy by Lonnie D. Crockett, pp.153-154: Article V is also known as the "Supremacy Clause." It asserts that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and all laws must be in pursuant thereof and all judges in all states are bound thereby. The purpose of this clause, the Supremacy Clause, was to prevent the states from invading those areas reserved, by the Constitution, exclusively to the federal government. It was also to curtail the government from invading the supreme authority reserved to the states by trying to acquire exclusive domination of areas, by usurpation of powers, in which there was joint jurisdiction between the states and the federal government. (All those responsible for breaking this Article V need to be prosecuted for not upholding their office to support and defend the Constitution.)
