August 10th, 2014 I SHALL NOT WANT Psalms 23:1-6 Beloved, Greetings! Psalm 23:1. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: Can you also say that the Lord is your shepherd like the Psalmist? It is a statement that is loaded with meaning. It is more than a confession of faith; it is a commitment to a life of total dependency on God as your provider, preserver, guide and helper. Saying the Lord is your shepherd means you have relinquished the throne of your life to Him. That is the place God wants us to come to in our walk with Him, where He leads and we follow, where He reigns and we submit. Until God becomes our shepherd we cannot really testify that we lack nothing. But when He takes the centre stage in our lives we can declare like David, I shall not want because in God is everything that you ever desire for life. He will provide for you, He will preserve your life, He will direct your steps, He will care for you and help you through lifes challenges. APPLICATION: Submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit. PRAYER FOCUS: Oh Lord, lead me in the path of righteousness in the name of Jesus Christ. From the Daily Devotional by Rotimi Oluwaseyitan Ministries Inc.
