August Drill 2014: Another drill weekend down! This months focus for the 237th was Back to Basics. Soldiers hit the books, and received great training from some of the Companys newest NCOs. Soldiers reviewed the diverse group of MP tasks which could range from a routine traffic stop, to full spectrum combat operations. It is in training like this that MP Soldiers remember what it is that makes MPs so special: They are Muti-Purpose. Soldiers also received the most current mandatory briefings the Army is putting out on the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP), the Threat Awareness and Reporting Program (TARP), and the Suicide Prevention Program. Work continued to get our armories up to speed in both Concord and Lebanon. Thanks to the hard work of the full time staff and the Soldiers, we are extremely ahead of schedule and are set to operate at the most efficient levels in Company history. Soldiers outfitted their lockers with all of their gear so it can be quickly accessed in an emergency, as well as neat and organized. Full time staff, along with Company and Platoon leadership, spearheaded a new property program which allows Company supplies to be neatly organized into Tri-Cons for each Squad. Furthermore, the Lebanon armory is almost done with its facelift! Headquarters took the bull by the horns and began the arduous process of getting all of our vehicles and equipment back up to speed after sitting in storage during the most recent deployment. Their hard work will definitely put us even more ahead of the game! The weekend also saw a number of promotions to include a large number of Specialists moving up to Sergeant, and Sergeants moving up to Staff Sergeant. Congrats to all! After all that hard work, it was time to let the Soldiers loose and dust off the cobwebs that formed from sitting in briefings. Thanks to the Gunstock Mountain Resort, the Soldiers got to face their fears and work on teambuilding on their Tree-Top adventure, along with some hiking to the summit of the mountain. We cannot thank the staff at Gunstock enough for their endless hospitality, as it truly made for a special day for all involved. This is just a small peak at what the 237th MPs accomplished this weekend, and the leadership could not be more happy with, and proud of, the level of output by the Soldiers!
