August is KADAYAWAN MONTH: On the word “KADAYAWAN”. It is just a word created from a local or native term “madayáw”. Created and invented as it is and does not carry with it a rule of speech on how to pronounce the word. Many would insist that it should be properly pronounced as “ka-da-ya-wán” which would obviously turn awkward or just a mere output of mediocrity. Common people on the streets still say it in the most easy and comfortable way as “KA-DA-YA-WAN”. Again, there is no correct or incorrect way of saying it as it does not carry a rule or grammar law how to say it. Saying it as purely “ka-da-ya-wan” as most people have practiced is just as good as it gains major public acceptance and adaptation.
