*August is national Make-A-Will Month* which is a great reminder to take this important step in consideration of your loved ones. A will is created to take care of your children, property and your financial decisions. One of the most important reasons to create a will is to establish how you would like your assets and estate to be divided. If there is no documented will, the court will divide the estate by default rules, which may not match your intentions. Creating a will is also essential if you have minor children so that you can name Guardians and designate how your assets will be protected for them. If you have not yet set aside the time to prepare a Will, take advantage of “Make-A-Will” month to make things easier for your loved ones when the time comes.
