Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland Coastal Waters Wind Warning For offshore waters from Double Island Point to Point Danger. Issued at 10:20 am EST on Monday 12 August 2013 Synoptic Situation A trough will enter the southwest of the state this morning and move rapidly east, contracting off the southern Queensland coast during Tuesday morning. North to northwesterly winds will strengthen over southern offshore waters late today ahead of the trough passage. Strong Wind Warning Double Island Point to Point Danger Expect north to northwesterly winds to increase to 25 to 30 knots over offshore waters this evening. Seas increasing to 3 metres. Winds are expected to decrease below 26 knots during early Tuesday morning. The next warning will be issued by 5 pm AEST.
