Authenticity and the courage of vulnerability are powerful examples to me of the fullness of life available in acceptance of lifes realities, both good and bad. I need these reminders to help me let go of my own pride, selfishness, fear of rejection and hardness of heart. Recently, the following things brought me the joy of being invited into others reality, their true, life experiences. (in no particular order of significance) 1) listening to Lecraes Anomaly album (such power in weakness) 2) watching Billy Connolly on PBS m.youtube/watch?v=GYWU_lO9-TY (Man, how I relate to the heart and humor of this Scottish dude!) 3) seeing my moms courage in displaying her art work, after hours upon hours of hard work and creative endeavoring, for all to see and critique. Thanks for the inspiration Mom! 4) watching the movie, Legendary, bashed by nearly all film critics, who were evidently unmoved by the powerful message of perseverance, forgiveness, and the enduring love of family in the face of great pain and loss. (Maybe its because Im a wrestling coach that I was so moved - it is one of the few movies out there that shows the true power of this sport to motivate and empower young people to be overcomers! )
