Authorities are searching for a La Crosse man who vanished while walking home from the North Side earlier this week. He did not return home and failed to show up for work at Huck Finn’s on the Water on Wednesday morning. Baumgartner was immediately concerned when Augustine missed work Wednesday and notified his family. She described him as a reliable worker with a big smile who was proud to have recently earned his U.S. citizenship. “He’s absolutely a warmhearted, fantastic person, Baumgartner said.
