Auto driver files PIL against GO Hyderabad: A public interest litigation has been filed in the AP High Court challenging a GO that allows police to impose penalties of Rs 1,000 on drivers for every parking violation. Auto driver A Ravi of the New Telangana Auto Drivers Trade Union, Hyderabad, said such penalties would eat into their meager earnings and would adversely affect their livelihood. The state government, particularly the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), has failed to provide parking areas in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. This has resulted in auto drivers and other commuters violating parking rules on roads said the petition. Rs 100 to Rs 1,000 for wrong parking is illegal, he said. Besides, there is no proper signal system in GHMC area and district headquarters.
