Automatic fire alarms account for about 40% of our call volume each year. It can be easy to become complacent on alarms, but crews remained vigilant earlier tonight when they caught smoke in a house while investigating an alarm. A pot was left cooking on the stove with no one home. Engine 2 was able to make entry with the help of a neighbor. The fire was contained to the pot, but a significant smoke condition had to be vented from the home. Good work by Lieutenant Seibert and crew!
