It goes from reddish purple to a bluish violet. The only problem is, though the daylight & incandescent reddish purple is very nice & medium dark, like most color change garnets, the bluish violet change is darker in tone. In this case, very dark. You have to have strong daylight florescent lighting to see it, otherwise it appears blackish, hence the price of $260.00.
