Aveda Holiday Gift Sets: Each set comes beautifully pre-packaged in festive, handmade lokta paper from Nepal. For seven years Aveda has purchased this special bark paper from the Himalayan Bio-Trade papermaking cooperative in Nepal. Ninety percent of the papermakers are women and income from papermaking helps them support their families and communities in ways that were previously unimaginable. Because more than 5,500 people have been hired to make more than 1,800,000 sheets of paper for their gift sets over the course of the partnership, Aveda reports that 6,100 children can now attend school, and 2,475 families have been able to buy food and clothing, repair their homes, and plan for the future.
