Averon Ely Jr. hit a pair of foul shots with seven seconds to play and Northridge held off a Moeller rally for a 53-50 win in boys basketball Saturday. The Polar Bears (8-2) led by a dozen going into the final quarter but the Crusaders (5-5) had cut the deficit to one point when Ely Jr. hit his final two foul shots. Ely Jr. finished with 23 points, including shooting 9-for-9 from the foul line. Fairborn 56, Troy 43: Jordan Pumroy paced Fairborn (7-3) with 21 points. Tri-Village 53, Miamisburg 32: Colton Linkous tallied 18 points and Damion Cook added 16 for Tri-Village (10-0). Josh Baker scored 10 points for Miamisburg (6-4). West Carrollton 85, Stebbins 81: Alex Craig scored 29 points and Mehdi Hossein added 20 for West Carrollton (3-7). Ja’Quan Dangerfield had 21 points for Stebbins (4-6). Piqua 59, Tippecanoe 47: Colton Bachman poured in 30 points for Piqua (7-4). Urbana 56, Ponitz 47: Cameron Logwood recorded 28 points for Urbana (9-1). Edmund Parker had 14 for Ponitz (7-3). Dunbar 65, Meadowdale 54: Terrance Landers led Dunbar (8-1) with 19 points. C.J. Williams had 12 points for Meadowdale (5-5). St. Xavier 56, Alter 50: Michael Schwieterman scored 18 points but Alter’s (5-5) rally effort fell short against St. Xavier (7-3). Madison 76, Tri-County North 39: Austin Philpot scored 16 points and Dakota Powell added 15 for Madison (8-1). Twin Valley South 48, Brookville 28: Wes Cole paced TVS (8-3) with 20 points. Bethel 57, Xenia Christian 45: Evan Hawthorn led Bethel (8-3) with 15 points. Newton 73, Bradford 38: Wade Ferrell scored 26 points for Newton (2-8). Versailles 72, Fort Loramie 57: Kyle Ahrens poured in 37 points, hitting seven 3-point baskets, for Versailles (8-1). St. Henry 46, Lima Bath 29: Ryan Mikesell tallied 19 points with 12 rebounds for St. Henry (8-1). Celina 70, New Bremen 62: Carson Manger scored 25 points in a losing effort for New Bremen (6-4).
