Avoidance of conflict is more common in males than females; - TopicsExpress

Avoidance of conflict is more common in males than females; especially males that were once on the receiving end of unhealthy, misdirected anger from a primary caregiver or the extreme end of the relating spectrum, males that were raised without a healthy respect for the full gamut of emotions, only allowed to express happy, positive feelings. Anger is a raw and primitive emotion; not violence, but a healthy and direct, expression of anger. Most people are afraid of anger in themselves and others; they judge it, label it as wrong, and punish it. This fear or avoidance prevents effective and direct communication and limits the potential for growth and intimacy in a relationship. This keeps a relationship at a superficial level. If we don’t feel and heal it, we will act it out.
