Aw Yall making me sad with the Im So posts. Those were the good ole days. I hate that so many of us have either lost contact, or wasted time being mad at each over dumb BS. I miss those that have lost their lives. The first kiss… The first heartache. The family house parties. The balloons attached to the wall after your mom rubbed it against her hair for static when there was no tape. The jeepers, the converse… The clogs, the jellies. The days we ran through the sprinklers in our underwear because we had no bathing suits. The aunt that told you to Do that dance as if you were the family entertainment. The Grandma that told you to get yo ass off the plastic covered furniture in the living room. The operation, the rock em sock em. The Easy bake ovens, the hoola hoops. The bare foot street races. Riding your bikes in packs to the next town. The bamboo earrings, the New Edition buttons. The Boones Farm, the Cisco. The bus ride to Caldwell. Sensations, Bogies, the Mint, Zanzibar, The Dollar Bar, Gregorys, World Paradise. The love couples had for each other. The parents that raised kids. The neighbor who would beat your kid. The respect our minors had for the elders. The Sunday school class, the vacation bible school. The girl scouts, the Boy scouts. The squirrel nuts, jolly ranchers, boston baked beans, lemon heads, laffy taffy. The onion ring breath, the orange fingers from the crunchy cheese doodles. The park, the crush at the park. The phone calls after the park. The butterflies. The You hang up calls, the beepers, the sky pagers, the PAST…. I will never forget my peeps and experiences from back in the day. Those experiences and many of you have shaped me into who I am today. I love yall… Thanks… IM SO…. GRATEFUL
