Aw-w-w, so cute! Straight out of The Wizard of Oz &/or Star Wars. Halloween. It makes us laugh. It lets us be somebody else and live out our fantasies for the day. So refreshing. Even for our pets--especially our dogs who are natural comedians, love being goofy and getting their sound-of-human-laughter fix. No wonder we love it, and it is the second largest money-making holiday of the year. (Christmas being #1.) Even though so many of us in North America genetically, at least in part, descend from Halloweens ancient Celtic Culture, some would disapprove of the holiday expressly because it stems from that European Celtic Culture of antiquity and that Cultures ancient Earth Religion beginnings. Therefore the day is not mentioned in the ancient texts of the non-European, Middle-Eastern-originating and also equally ancient Book of the Old Testament. If thats a deal-breaker for you because the holiday is not mentioned in either book of the Bible, Im sure that makes you feel very pious and holy as you abstain, while we friends of and descendants of ancient Celtic-Earth-Religion-Halloween-celebrating sinners laugh, party, eat candy, dress up in costumes, and pretend to be somebody-or-something else for the day as we publically celebrate the only remaining and widely recognized holiday from our ancient ancestors culture that has refused to be driven underground by The Church. Even though most of us today celebrate it very differently, and from what I hear frivolously, from millennia ago. Scandalous, huh? A wonderful old saying comes to mind: All things in moderation--even moderation in MODERATION. So--live it up tomorrow, sinners! AND--DONT DO ANYTHING I WOULDNT DO ;) / ;) !
