Awakening to the sound of the audio Bible which played in the background all night ... to lay as morning breaks to hear Jobs friends berating him for whatever sins he refused to admit to - sins which supposedly incurred Gods scathing judgement on him ... hearing Job maintain His innocence, yet allowing himself to steadily descend into a O, Woe Is Me/Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People cavern of self-pity. Then God steps in (Job 38) and with a voice like approaching thunder (sounding like Mufasa - but deeper and increasingly booming) gives a rolling oration of His endless, matchless and eternal attributes. For each quality the Holy One lists, Job recognizes how small he (Job) is - how light his affliction, how special he is that God would have separated him for these temporary afflictions (though grievous they may seem at the time). By the time Job butts in again (Job 41), he was fully repentant, seeing God with new revelation ... and received his healing in all aspects. Note also: 1) Your friends/companions/family/peers will often spout their opinions about your situation. All the wisdom of men pale into obscurity in the light of Gods perfection. KNOW GOD FOR YOURSELF!! 2) Seasons must happen. Its just the way of things. Mountain-top today, valley/gutter tomorrow. These too shall pass. Go through but most importantly, COME OUT! 3) Despite all that we think we know - the titles we gain and the accolades we cloak ourselves in - at some point we will come to the realize that, without God, they are nothing ... pointless ... unable to fill the void that only God can fill. 4) At the appointed time, God will restore you. You shall come out of the pit and be established in palaces. 5) One day, we will acknowledge the Omnipotence and sheer majesty of our Creator, the one True and Living God. We can bow now or we can bow later ... but we WILL bow. Blessings!
