Awen An ancient term used to symbolize Inspiration or Enlightenment For me, it is that Ah hah moment when a person learns something new or has their perspective shifted It is the landmark event that signifies a personal change in the way a human thinks Some uses of the word refer to the conveyance of knowledge Selfishly I seek these moments of enlightenment, for my self and in the sharing of simple demonstrable insights with others. I get off on it. Heres the sticky part: It is hard to get people to learn simple things any more. Personal searches for truth have been exploited by religionists and greed mongers to the point where any legitimate attempt at Enlightenment is immediately suspect and tossed into one of two camps, those camps are separated by a huge gulf: Science (honestly just a tool or process for gaining insight into any subject. The process has also been used for unscrupulous purposes and is oft thought of as anything but what it really is: a tool that anyone can use to explore ANY question) Religion (such a broad blanket that covers so much, but as it pertains to knowledge, religions generally provide the participant with approved knowledge for them to find within certain approved boundaries. Faith in the un-see-able and Obedience to what you are provided are common themes) How do we as fellow travelers share our own Ah hah moments? How can we communicate any insights we have gleaned? What mechanisms can be used to overcome the stigmas that appends itself to any legitimate modern search for knowledge? I think I may explore these questions a bit more, experiment with my own Awen and see how many others I can help in their own personal search for enlightenment by so doing. How? Using observable, repeatable, processes that build upon what humanity already has done. Allowance for change and a willingness to toss out old knowledge for new if the observations warrant...... Oh my, another ramble, sorry. Something on my scrambled mind I had to get out.
