CJHL Alumni in Race for Stanley Cup Championship CALGARY, Alberta – The 2013 Stanley Cup Finals will open tonight in Chicago with eleven CJHL alumni vying for their shot at a Stanley Cup Championship! The Canadian Junior Hockey League will be proudly represented by players and staff of the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins: Boston Bruins Milan Lucic, Coquitlam (BCHL) Rich Peverley, Milton (OJHL) Wade Redden, Lloydminster (AJHL) Chris Kelly, Aurora/Vaughan (OJHL) Peter Chairelli (General Manager), Ottawa (CCHL) Scott Bradley (Director of Player Personnel), Abbotsford/Langley (BCHL) Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Sharp, Kanata (CCHL) Duncan Keith, Penticton (BCHL) Sheldon Brookbank, Humboldt (SJHL) Daniel Carcillo, Milton (OJHL) Norm Maciver (Assistant GM), Thunder Bay (OJHL) Three CJHL alumni also played for the Blackhawks in the 2012-2013 Regular Season: Jamal Mayers, Thornhill (OJHL) Carter Hutton, Fort William (SIJHL) Brandon Pirri, Streetsville/Georgetown (OJHL) Four CJHL alumni captured the 2011 Stanley Cup as members of the Boston Bruins with the franchise’s first Stanley Cup since 1972. Three of the four alumni remain with the Bruins in the 2013 Stanley Cup run: Milan Lucic, Coquitlam (BCHL) Rich Peverley, Milton (OJHL) Chris Kelly, Aurora / Vaughan (OJHL) Mark Recchi, Langley (BCHL) During the opening week of the 2013 NHL season, 129 CJHL alumni were on the rosters of NHL teams. The NHL continues to attract CJHL talent as 15 current CJHL players were recently identified in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings for the upcoming 2013 Entry Draft.
