Ayana di...this Book Bucket List Challenge is really a super cool one. Thats mostly because it brings to your mind a whole lot of memories that filled the best part of your life...Now I hardly get time to read, but still I remember all the stories I have read...Here goes my favourite list..in no particular order... 1. I bow to all the books that Enid Blyton has written for they gave me joy, happiness, dreams and a wonderful world to imagine about..be it Faraway Tree,Famous Five, Secret Seven, Malory Towers, Twins at St Clares or Wishing Chair...I never had enough of it...I remember reading it zillion times...specially the parts with food in it...yummmmmmm! 2. The Asterix and Obelix Series...I still have them...I still love them...and I still drool in the part when they win their challenges and sit down to feast with the BIG Roast Boar....ahhhhhh! 3. Our very own Satyajit Ray book series...from Feluda, to Professor Shonku, to Apu trilogy to a mix of short stories by him in Sera Satyajit, the book let me awed, moved and flabbergasted. I still remember not being able to sleep after reading about a story where one sadhu turns a man into his pet snake.... A special mention here is to my father Satya Priya Sarkar, who actually introduced me to his stories...we , my mother Sunanda Sarkar and I would curl up on stormy nights to hear my father tell us stories by Satyajit Ray, with a lot of dramatics...loved those story telling sessions. 4. Books by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay...My chordi..Madhuparna introduced me to his books...and got me hooked to his humour, charm and naughtiness...Please convey this to chordi.. Peetam da. 5. The Tintin series by Herge.......LOVED them...still do. 6. My Last Duchess , Porphyrias Lover , Last Ride together, Fra Lippo Lippi , Andrea del Sarto...all by Robert Browning...these poems ...yes these are just poems but to me they qualify as books for they left lasting impressions in my mind...mind-boggling stories of twisted love and deep-rooted psychosis..can leave u shaken and shattered... 7. The Color Purple - It is a 1982 epistolary novel by American author Alice Walker which won the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Award for Fiction. A story focusing on women of colour came into my life when I started understanding the meaning of being a woman. 8. P.S. I love you- What intense love and positivity of a relationship is portrayed in this book...My hubby Debdutta Chakraborty gifted me this book just after our marriage and this remains a sweet memory... 9. In Praise of Stay-at-Home moms- This book came into my life a year after my daughter was born, gave me the real meaning of the term Mother...what is a mother for a person and what role does she play in the life of a person...what being a mom really means..what it does to you and other people around you...lovely book...full of positivity and fun... 10. my Last book for this list will be Golpo Guccho a collection of stories by Rabindra Nath Tagore in which I specifically remember...Chutti..I cried 1 whole week for Phatik...the teenage boy.
