Ayyo!!! So currently Im procrastinating my math homework, but thats okay. BECAUSE IM GOING TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR FALL ONE DAY! 1. RSVP! ECR Fall One Day is on Sunday, October 12th, at Barnard College at Colombia University, in NYC. And sign up for debates! They close Oct 3rd jsa.debateware/ 2. Yes, it is on a Sunday! But fret not, the following Monday is Columbus Day, so no school for us! Plus youll probably be home around 7 anyways, so dont worry about it being too late either. 3. We get there by train. Milford is the closest to most of us, and its also cheaper than the New Haven station, which is one stop back before. So from Milford, there is a 6:59 train that well be taking. That gets us to Grand Central Station around 8:45, and well make it with a little time to spare. The cost of a train ticket is something like $29.50, if you buy it at the train station. HOWEVER, if you pull together you and four other friends, and buy a ticket online, that price drops down to something closer to $24.00 per person. If youve found four friends and youre interested in doing that, you can message me, and Ill buy the ticket for you and you can pay me back. Thats enough to get you a coffee and a bagel! So I highly recommend doing that, its what I do. 4. Additional costs include money for the subway, I would allow $10 for that. And also food, which could be anywhere from $5 from a food cart or something outrageous at a restaurant, this is NYC were talking about. I do recommend GCS food court though, they have really good Indian food. And Chinese takeout, and a Shake Shack. CHOOSE YOUR OWN FOOD ADVENTURE 10. Alas, theres the registration money, its just $10 and a great fundraiser which helps contribute to the loads of things that JSA does for us, namely scholarships! Be on the lookout for that, the Fall State scholarship application form is coming to an email near you. 11. Dress: The dress code is business casual. If you dont know what that looks like I would google it. But generally for boys: suits, shirts ties, jackets, slacks, dress shoes, the works. You know what you wear for sports the day of a game or a meet? Throw a jacket on that and youre golden. For girlies here, something that youd wear to an interview. Pants, skirts, whatever you want. In general though bring a coat or a jacket cause it gets a little chilly, but well see how the weather is treating us closer towards the date. 12. Its a lot of fun!!! Many of the sophomores had their first JSA experience at Fall One Day last year, and I saw them back at the meeting Wednesday, so if they fell in love with it, and we all have, then so will you!
