Azim Premji University presents A TRIBUTE TO V K MURTHY: DOCUMENTARY FILM SCREENING AND PANEL DISCUSSION Friday, November 21 , 2014 . 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. 10th Floor Auditorium, Pixel A, Azim Premji University, Bangalore. The Dadasahab Phalke award winning cinematographer, VK Murthy, passed away in April this year. To honour the memory of his life and work, Azim Premji University has organized the screening of Govind Nihalanibs B documentary, VK Murthy: A Journey Through Light and Shadows (2006, 29 mins). The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Uma Rao, reputed Kannada writer and biographer of VK Murthy, and GS Bhaskar, distinguished cinematographer who has worked with directors such as Sai Paranjape, Girish Kasaravalli and MS Sathyu. Uma Rao will speak on The Personality of VK Murthy, and GS Bhaskar will speak on The Importance of VK Murthy for Indian Cinema. The panel discussion will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
