PEACE PROPOSAL IN NIGERIA (Article of the Week By: B. A. Kingsley) Dear Nigerians, do you know that anything that threatens the peace of this nation threatens the entire foundation and thereby defeating the labour of heroes past? Can we really stand the wind of unrest? Well, gone are days of CIVIL WAR, this is the time to embrace CIVIL UNITY. Peace is only but a function of unity. All these killing and bombing must have to stop in our nation! It begins from us, our homes and our neighborhood. we have refute the clarion call for peace through our respective quest and adventurous adaptation for survival. Our nation has actually become a platform or less a racing track for the survival of the fittest. We are yet to understand that Nigeria is not a mere geographical expression but a region occupied by inhabitants with common heritage in spite of which many wallow in a sphere of emotional dissonance. We have experience the worse shipwreck over the years, moving from the sublime to the ridicule as we celebrate freedom in ropes. The Nigeria challenge is not in the diversity of tongues; but in the diversity of interest. If we make peace a common interest, we shall better our lots as we shall do a lot more better in social, economical and political struggle. Indeed there is a course for serious alarm. Dear Nigerians we have given ourselves to much lies and deceitful pledges. It is time to stand attention, keeping our eyes right and take the bull by the horn! We cant talk peace into existence. Though we teach peace, we do not act in capacity of the sole truth that UNITY is 99.9% achievement of peace in our community. Truly if we are united, then we can begin to replace the square pegs fitted into the wrong holes. The peace we need must begin from us, within us and among us. In the quest for the freedom of the South African nation, Mandela in the movie titled Mandela - Long Walk to Freedom when ask by the court if he was guilty of sabotaging the government, he replied and said it is not i but the government that is guilty. I remember he once said Freedom is an ideal for which i am prepared to die. These indeed are unrefined nuggets. Fellow Nigerians, it is true that leaders who does not inspire his/her people teaches them no secrete of hope. We are inclined that the government is responsible for every of our potential pitfall over the years. It is the government that is guilty of lack of peace, unity, security, unemployment, injustice, suffering; over and above all corruption. This is a country where the burial ceremony of Truth is chairman by Deceit and Lies and freedom is celebrated at the boundaries of defeat and vulnerability Yesterday it was constitutional amendment. Today the talk of national conference is over. But will it rain again tomorrow? The question is: what is the constitution all about? For whom was the amendment of the constitution? And for whose interest is the national conference? While yet ponder on answers, here is another: who wrote the constitution? Who amends the constitution? And who were the delegates for the national conference? I think all these are political glamour, fashions and strategies to divert the attention of the calculative intellectual citizens. we actually gave a chance for glamorous scenes and parade since we deliberately and consciously refute being subjected to the laws of the land. The summary of the whole constitution in simplicity is unity and faith, peace and progress then our slogan is just a short expression of the constitution. Surely if our interest politically and otherwise is bound by the constitution , then we shall experience peace and progress through unity. It is all our fault. We both share in the blame. we have never been blind to the truth, but we have only cover it from springing forth since we have cowardly betrayed our right by consciously given away our conscience for survival which goes than the drain soonest. Our conscience is our only hope and our mantle to mitigate political insurgence. Painfully we have replace justice with injustice through sentiments. This is my right! This is your right!! This is our right!!! It is the government that has divided us through ethnicity, tribalism, nepotism, diversity and class. Dear Nigerians, let us come together in the spirit of love and embrace PEACE. Together we shall fight insurgence and replace ethnicity with love, tribalism with unity, nepotism with meritocracy, diversity with common interest and class with common progress. Now it is not all about the government but us. This indeed is my peace. I stand for peace. What about you? It begins from here! Your voice may not be heard but you can support and promote peace in Nigeria by spreading this message of peace by embracing peace and promoting peace using social media trigger. This is could be our best weapon of war. Startling we can use social networking to anticipate peace and mitigate social- political, economic crisis and social vices. Please pray for Nigeria. I love 9ja! Good people, Great nation. God bless Africa, God bless Nigeria and God bless you. Written By: B.A. Kingsley. For Public Speaking, Conferences, Seminar, and Forum.
