B*O*M*B*S*H*E*L*L! #G7 to PDP: We’re Running Out of Patience With Jonathan# The new PDP has said that President Jonathan has a few days’ grace left to meet the demands of the faction or risk losing the faction. The spokesperson of the group, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka said that the faction’s patience is tried beyond bound and warned that unless President Jonathan quickly addresses their grievances as soon as possible, it would have no other choice than to move into the opposition camp. According to Chukwuemeka, the new PDP because of the respect they have for President Jonathan, it would wait until he resumes fully to duty after the pilgrimage vacation and the burial of his mother in law. He said, “You are aware of how we are being chased around, sort left and right, from Sokoto, to Kano, everywhere. It shows that we are now the beautiful bride of Nigerian politics today. Suitors are after us and of course you know that suitors can only follow beautiful brides. “The reason why they are following us is because they know that with the calibre of people with the new PDP, you cannot talk of anything meaningful in politics without these leaders. “A state like Kano with its high population figure, you can be sure that the impact of such state in any political calculation can be unimaginable. Similarly, a state like Sokoto, apart from being the head of Muslim society, they have a say in who becomes what in Nigerian politics. This also applies to Adamawa, Jigawa, Niger and the other states that are in the new PDP. You can’t be talking of the presidency of this country when you don’t control these states, they will have a greater say in determining who occupies Aso Rock.” The faction’s spokesperson said that it would be foolhardy for the PDP under the leadership of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur to think that he can approach the 2015 general election without the G.7 governors and numerous other party leaders who have since identified with their cause. “All these while, we have been preaching peace, nobody wants to take us seriously. This is unfortunate because these are the same people who are planning to go to election, it shows how unserious they are. The fact remains that no one can undermine our impact in the political system. “We are proud that our importance is being recognised by political heavyweights because they understand that any group we join should start preparing to occupy the villa. Any group that undermines us is not serious for the 2015 election.” Chief Eze said: “having said all these, we cannot take any stand or side within the group until we have the meeting with Jonathan because we are men of honour, we respect our President. We have to hear him out and he has to also hear us and until after that, we will decide.” Meanwhile, he said that any group is free to woo them but whatever decision of the faction will only come after the meeting with the President. “We will tell Nigerians our next step. We are doing all these because we are concerned about the future of Nigeria and the plights of the next generation.”
