*** BACK ON THE LIST *** One-year-old, just gave birth to pups, got taken away from those pups and was left to fend for herself in a cage at Brooklyn ACC. Sweet Bella is the quintessential “throwaway momma”. She served her purpose in giving birth to sellable pups and now she’s of no use to anyone. Still lactating and no doubt grieving and frantic about being taken away from her babies, Bella nevertheless took her fate in stride and remained perfectly calm during an intrusive initial medical exam. But the stress of it all and those raging hormones are going to be very hard for her as time goes on and reality sets in. Bella needs to get to a vet asap to make sure she’s OK, to see if there are meds that might help her, and to let her know she is worth a whole lot to some human someplace. ACC has no more time for Bella and is prepared to throw her away again tomorrow. Tonight, Bella really needs a special person out there who is ready to help this baby through what is likely the worst time of her life. She needs a human who will let her know she is worth something. Bella needs to be a plain old regular one year old who plays and runs and flops at their owner’s feet and who reaches up to give doggie kisses as thank you’s. If you’re that person, step up to foster or adopt Bella.
