BALTIMORE -- Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was moving around better on Monday, one day after he fouled a ball off the top of his right kneecap, and the captain said that he expects to be in the lineup on Tuesday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. On Sunday, Jeter underwent X-rays that came back negative, but he was out of New Yorks starting lineup on Monday for the finale of its series against the Orioles, replaced at shortstop by Eduardo Nunez. Its a whole lot better than it was last night, Jeter said after the Yankees 3-2 victory at Camden Yards. We made a lot of progress going from last night to today, and hopefully we can make some more. The plan is to play tomorrow. Jeter was hobbled during a third-inning at-bat against Baltimores Zach Britton on Sunday but stayed in the game, going 0-for-4 in New Yorks 2-0 loss, the first game of a doubleheader that the two clubs split. Jeter was taken out of the lineup minutes before the first pitch of Game 2 due to swelling, saying it was really bizarre how the knee reacted. He received treatment for most of the day on Monday and was wearing a light wrap as he left to board the teams charter flight.
