BANK OF AMERICA -- SCAM ALERT!!! Hello Everyone -- Today I received what appeared to be an official email from Bank of America, advising their “Dear Valued Customer” (yours truly) of “Security Checkpoint: Your Account Has Been Compromised “, with today’s date and “Identity Theft Protection” on the top. This message instructed me to click on a link to complete an ENTIRE new application, filled with various pieces of confidential personal information. I called Bank of America and spoke with one of their customer service representatives, who confirmed my suspicion that this was a fraudulent message. Bank of America does not generate or send this type of message, period. They provided me with their company’s email fraud address, to which I forwarded the email I received from “Bank of America”. We all need to be vigilant, especially during this time of year, as it seems this type of activity is especially prevalent. Fair warning to all!
