BAR HARBOR — Two candidates nights have been scheduled to help inform the public in advance of upcoming elections for Hancock County District Attorney and the Maine House. Both events will take place at the YWCA Mount Desert Island on Mount Desert Street. Candidates for District Attorney Bill Entwisle and Matt Foster will meet the public in a Q&A forum on Monday, Oct. 6, from 7-8 p.m. Candidates for House District 135 Brian Hubbel and Joe Marshall will participate in a forum on Tuesday, Oct. 7, also from 7-8 p.m. Citizens are urged to attend and learn how the candidates will deal with the important issues facing Hancock County and the State of Maine. There will be an opportunity for the audience to submit their own questions to be presented by the moderator, former Maine State Senator Jill Goldthwait. This event is sponsored by the AAUW Hancock County, the League of Women Voters Downeast, the Mount Desert Islander and the YWCA MDI. An additional candidates forum is scheduled to be held at the Ellsworth City Hall Auditorium on Monday, Oct. 20, for District Attorney, House Districts 132 (Beth Allen and Richard Malaby), House District 136 (Fred Ehrlenbach and Louis Luchini) and Senate District 7 (Ted Koffman and Brian Langley). Those events will begin at 6 p.m.
