BARBADOS WARY OF EBOLA Barbados is assured that health of the nation will not be compromised as government will provide the necessary assistance to combat any Ebola threats. Health Minister, John Boyce announced plans during a press briefing, for increased surveillance at ports of entry in the face of the rapid spread of Ebola. Boyce is confident Barbados has a team of specialists that can handle any disease that emerges. Meanwhile, acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Elizabeth Ferdinand advises people to defer travel to West Africa at this time, despite the lack of travel restrictions there. Ferdinand says practicing good hygiene is important should a person travel to the affected areas.
