BARBERSHOP CLEARED Was listening to the radio today and it was being reported that our PM and his security detail cleared a barbershop somewhere in Roseau to facilitate him receiving a hair cut himself. This was rather interesting to me, especially when we place it in the context of those who held the office before him and how they seemed to have remained grounded with the common folk. What are your views on this? I will get the ball rolling and say that I really dont have a problem with it necessarily. I believe that the PMs security should always be first when the factors are considered. Saying who would want to hurt the PM is no way to weigh his security needs. I am not sure what the intelligence from the PMs security knew that led them to making that bold move. I dont however believe it was a great PR move from a peoples person perspective and seems to show a person who is divorced from the realities of the everyday young person. He could have used that opportunity to engage the young men and women who might have been at the shop and speak to them about their realities. But no mater how we like to think as our leaders as on the same level with us, the reality is they are not especially when stuff like this happens, for good or bad. Weigh in folks.
