I Sam. 23: 17 – David knew it, Jonathan knew and Saul knew it. 2 Sam. 5: 3 – King over Israel – comprising the whole twelve tribes. 2. It breeds complacency which also kills enthusiasm. Exodus 40: 36–38, Luke 19: 41–42. 4. It makes us have confidence in the flesh and collide with God. Phil. 3: 3, Daniel 4: 29 – 37, Luke 12: 16 – 20, Prov. 27: 1 5. It attacks dependence on God. It calls for self independence. John 15: 5 – 7. 6. It kills aspiration. The enemy of best is better. Some don’t even leave the level of good, not to talk of better. Whereas, better is not enough. Move to best. Aspire to refire to enable you acquire. Conclusion: Therefore, don’t be satisfied in: a) Study, meditation. Josh 1: 8, Psalm 1: 1 – 3; 119: 9 b) Prayer. I Thess. 5: 17 c) Witnessing. Mat. 24: 14. d) Fellowship. Heb. 10: 25 etc. Desire to improve. The only constant thing in life is change. If we refuse to change, change will overtake us.
