BELLEVUE JOB OPENING(S) Massage Center of Bellevue has an immediate need for three full time massage practitioners to staff their office in downtown Bellevue and hopes to add nine more positions ahead of opening their second location in the Overlake area of Bellevue in a few months. I am working with them to facilitate getting excellent therapists to a well established practice that has a history of treating massage practitioners like the professionals they are. Massage Center of Bellevue has been around since September of 2002 under the same ownership. Dr. Roy Steinberg, DC has been involved with the local health care community since 1982, but now runs this great massage clinic full time while also serving as a consultant for chiropractors all over the region. Unlike working for inexperienced owners or one of the many franchises that treat massage practitioners like indentured laborers Roy has a deep appreciation of what massage practitioners bring to the table. Here are a few bullet points to consider: Their clinic averages 80-90 new patients per month. They are contracted with all of the major health networks other than Group Health. Their patient base is 80% treatment, 20% wellness & relaxation. They credential all new hires under their facility contract, and although this credentialing is not portable they do all of the work needed to get you credentialed through their clinic(s). They provide in-house training and support of senior therapists. Shifts are typically 6 or 7.5 hours and with exception of an occasional back to back client during the early morning shift they provide 15 minutes between clients. With the way the business is managed therapists can disconnect easily after their shift with no obligation to help market the practice or take work home, your off time is fully respected. Practitioners are not responsible for reminder calls or other administrative duties beyond treating patients and completing chart notes while on shift. The practice’s major thrust is to maximize hands on time and minimize everything else. Though standards are high for the practitioners who work at the clinic there is no clinical micromanagement, your skill and work is respected for what it is. Job security is abundant; currently they turn away 5 to 7 patients per day and that is why the new clinic is opening in the Overlake area in October or November. Thanks to great facility management no-shows make up less than 2% of total patient volume and therapists get paid the same whether their client shows up or not! However, therapists are asked to provide assistance around the office during the hour of a no-show, essentially being paid at the same rate as if they were hands on with their client. Pay scales currently start at $24-26 per hour of treatment and that will be bumped to $26-28 in the new office in September/October. Pay scales top out at $33/hour, but there’s more to compensation than this. Bonus pay for higher production and higher utilization is available, equating to $0.50-$2/treatment hour DOE, time with the company and total volume. They offer a health insurance stipend, ranging from $100-$150 to allow practitioners to either buy a health insurance policy on the exchange or to otherwise mitigate uninsured costs from an existing policy. They also provide annual bonuses of $250 on the first anniversary of employment and $500 for each subsequent year.
