BENUE: POLICE ARREST 43 SUSPECTED CULTISTS, ROBBERS Benue State Police Command on Wednesday night arrested 43 people over cultism and armed robbery in Makurdi, the state capital. Police spokesman, Daniel Ezeala, said 36 out of the number were suspected cultists apprehended at Adikpo street around Ankpa quarters, while four others were arrested at Wurukum. He said the remaining three were arrested for armed robbery. Ezeala said on sighting the police, the occupants jumped out of the car, but that the men on duty gave them a hot chase and apprehended three out of the six persons. He added that a locally made pistol and six rounds of ammunition were recovered. Ezeala said the suspects are assisting the command with useful information just as he warned criminals in the state to repent.
