BERNE, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that SR 218 (E. Main Street) is scheduled for closure in Berne on Wednesday, July 24, at 5 a.m., due to a festival. The closure is between US 27 (N. Church Avenue) and CR 000. The detour is US 27 to CR 500S to CR 000. The road will be re-opened by 6 a.m. on Sunday, July 28. INDOT wants all drivers, event participants and their families to stay safe on the roads. It is important that drivers plan for additional time, maintain a safe speed and be alert for changing road conditions during festival season. Always buckle up, never drive impaired, drive defensively, drive attentively, and share the road.
