BESE IS BEST (April 29, 2014) OCEANIA ATHLETES OBSERVER bob snow rates 2014 coca-cola games top winners; URGES THEM TO WORK HARDER Bob Snow has named intermediate girls sprint queen, Younis Bese, of Gospel High School, as the best female athlete at the 2014 Coca-Cola Games. The former Oceania Athletics Association statistician and now Pacific Games observer rated Bese, Batinisavu Uluiyata, Inia Sili and Waisale Dausoko as the top athletes of the Games. Snow says Bese deserves more praise because she recorded better times than senior girls gold medallists Sisilia Seavula (100m) and Elenoa Sailosi (200m). “What excited me most was the level of performance showcased during the two days at the ANZ Stadium,” Snow said. “Bese’s performance was the most exciting of all the girls who competed in the two days. She set new records of 24.72sec in the 200m and 12.20secs in the 100m. “Bese made her debut at the Pacific Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna last year and she did extremely well. “And at the 2014 Coke Games, she has moved up a level. She is clearly the number one female athlete in Fiji.” Snow is currently compiling the Coca-Cola Games report and will submit it to the Oceania Athletics Association. Golden girl ...
