BEST FITNESS ADVICE! Id say one of the best pieces of advice I could give someone regarding fitness is to integrate in weight training into your exercise routine. 1 lb of fat burns about 6 calories for you a day versus 1 lb of muscle burns 60 calories for you a day!! THATS TEN TIMES MORE CALORIES PER LB! About 3 years ago in order to lose weight I was eating about 1500 calories (this was based on my BMR). Over the past 3 years I started lifting weights and lifting heavier. Typically doing 3 days of weights and 2 of cardio. I now consume about 2500 calories a day (granted Im not trying to lose anymore but thats still a large increase in calories). Its easier to maintain your weight when your BMR is higher so you can eat more in the day... feeling less deprived and when you do have a cheat meal it doesnt seem to side track you as much. ;) Ladies- dont be scared to lift weights because we only have 1/10 the testosterone as men you wont bulk up! :)
